Silver Star Auto Ltd. (SSAL) was incorporated as a business entity in December 11, 1996. It is a limited liability company and deals in the sale and service of Mercedes- Benz vehicles and spare parts. They are the sole agent of Daimler Chrysler in Ghana as a sister company to Japan Motors Trading Company.

Internet being one of the major resources, SSAL uses it for general surfing, internal communication and administrative purposes.

Network Periphery Vulnerable to Network Attacks

Mr. Addo, explaining his concern about the network attacks, said, “All our sensitive data like employee details, transactions, orders etc. are stored in the network. Hence, they are under a constant threat from attacks like DoS, IP Spoofing, Man-in-the-Middle and other network attacks. Also, controlling data tampering due to eavesdropping attacks from outsiders was necessary.”

Spam Mails – A Hassle for Everyone

Mr. Addo was worried about the amount of Spam mails received in the network. He said, “These Spam mails often led the employees to waste a considerable amount of time in reading and deleting them individually, leading to decrease in productivity. Also, they increased the load on the server, hampering the speed of the network. Further, clicking the malicious links within the mails led to additional hassles and even opened the network for malwares.”
