Mr. Jayakrishnan R.,
“As how it goes with most organizations, we use Internet for most of our communications. Also, regular and work-related surfing come into the picture”, said Mr. Jayakrishnan R., IT Manager at NSH Corp. Mr. Jayakrishnan wanted to ensure continuous and safe Internet connectivity for NSH at all times. The network related issues that he identified were:
Unruly Use of Internet
One of the most pressing issues for Mr. Jayakrishnan was the use of Internet by employees for non-business related purposes like casual surfing, torrents, chatting, gaming, watching videos and uploading/downloading high bandwidth files. As a result of such unruly web surfing, they lost plenty of man-hours that could have been channelized for business efforts. Hence, he desired an effective Content Filtering solution which would block all unauthorized surfing and downloading. All Phishing, Pharming and malicious content over the Internet also needed to be plugged.
Unrestricted web surfing by employees took a toll on NSH’s bandwidth availability and made the organization’s ISP bills surge to uncontrollable heights. Huge volumes of data got wasted on non-productive work. Unmonitored surfing of bandwidth-hungry websites and upload/download of bandwidth-intensive files added to Mr. Jayakrishnan’s woes.
The Cyberoam Solution
Having considered some leading security solutions in the market, including Exinda, Mr. Jayakrishnan zeroed in on Cyberoam. They bought Fifteen (15) Cyberoam Appliances which included CR 50ia, CR 100ia, CR 50iNG and CR 100iNG. Their Head Office at Al Khobar sports a CR 100iNG deployed in Gateway Mode, while the others are deployed at their various Project Sites. After setting up all the Cyberoam Appliances in their network, they noticed the following benefits.
