Cyberoam Provides Next-generation Network Security to Commodore
Commodore Contracting Co., Construction
The Commodore Contracting Co. is one of the most respected construction companies in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The transformation of the GCC region has afforded the GCC construction industry the largest and most complex projects in the world. Competing with some of the major established foreign companies in the region, Commodore is proud to have delivered its part in creating the GCC cities of today, creating relationships and bonds with partners, clients and suppliers that endure as surely as the buildings themselves.
Protecting the company network from all kinds of external and internal threats including intrusion attack or virus/malware infection, is a must for the organization
Mr. Wilson Ilagan
IT Technical Support
Commodore is a major construction company in GCC, with most of their business
activities being carried out online. Obviously, Internet security is the top most priority
for the organization. “Protecting the company network from all kinds of external and
internal threats including intrusion attack or virus/malware infection, is a must for the
organization”, said Mr. Wilson Ilagan, IT Technical Support at Commodore Contracting
Co. Hence, the need was of a solution that could provide comprehensive network
security for the company.
Unguarded Network Perimeter
In a time when most of the corporations today contain many confidential data and
business secrets, the need for a gateway level network security appliance cannot be

Virus and Malware Threats
“Being connected to the Internet for business interests, it becomes necessary for the company to provide the employees with a safe and secure environment to work in”, said Mr. Ilagan. Remote Access Issues
Mr. Ilagan said, “We need to provide remote access to the network resources for employees working in different offices”. The remote access is served via a Site-to-Site IPSec VPN connection. However, the need was not of a solution that would just provide them with VPN connectivity but a reliable, secure and threat-free connectivity through VPN.
The Cyberoam Solution
Mr. Ilagan searched the network security
market in order to address the business
challenges of his organization. After a thorough
search, they laid their eyes upon Cyberoam,
the Next Generation Security Appliance and
purchased Three (3) Cyberoam Appliances.
They deployed One (1) CR 50ia appliance at
their head office and One (1) CR 15i appliance
at their private office. They deployed both the
appliances in Gateway mode. They have kept
the CR 35ia appliance in standby mode, for
